On Saturday March 30th, the 4th edition of Eggshibition took place at VOGELFREI, the creative stronghold of the Havenloods in Utrecht. 15 Utrecht artists unleashed their creativity on 15 ostrich eggs, bringing the total collection to over 50! With each egg that arrived in the days leading up to the event, we were amazed anew. Each creation was a gift in itself. The exhibition on Saturday afternoon was quickly followed by a diverse program of special entertainment lasting into the late hours. With a good glass of PaasIJ in hand, it was once again a fantastic party.
Art!
In addition to the exhibition of over 50 ostrich eggs, work was underway outside on a mega egg measuring about 3 meters. It was completely transformed by 2 graffiti artists into a perfect colorful entrance to the event.
Party
We brought many of our favorite entertainers from Amsterdam, such as our towering ostrich, the IJ-caravan, and we also had a few bottles of IJ Jenever lying around, which found a nice spot at the secret kopstootbar. Despite the absence of a portion of sunlight, everyone could still find enough PaasIJ. The brass players of Blaaskaak blew the tent away and all the eggs had to move aside. A big bingo followed and then dancing, dancing, dancing. In short, it was another great one.
Warm welcome
For us, this was already the fourth edition of Eggshibition, and the second in Utrecht. We are very happy with the warm reception and response from the Domstad. Connection with art and culture is an important pillar for us. We do everything in our own way, and the message to the Utrecht artists was the same. This resulted in the most diverse eggs, making it a delightful whole. The collaboration with VOGELFREI and NAR ensured that we can all look back happily on a top event.
