Ciel Bleu Imperial Stout. A new collab with the two star restaurant.

In order to kick off 2016 in style, we decided to collaborate with Ciel Bleu once more. The chefs of the famed restaurant of the Okura hotel earlier created one of our most popular specials, the Ciel Bleu IPA, with us. Since January is not exactly the greatest month for tropical pale ales, we opted for an imperial stout this time.

We decided to add a fresh, culinary twist to this dark, firm, malty style of beer. To a substantial amount of roasted malt, we added Trinitaro cacao beans, provided by the Chocolatemakers. It provides a beautiful extra layer of deep roast flavour.

In the beloved IPA we brewed with Ciel Bleu, the addition of some kaffir lime resulted in an exotic, tropical touch. This time, some galanga was used for a similar effect. Cooking its root with the wort gave this stout a slightly spicy bite.

Limited edition. Available in bottle at our tasting room and at the bars and stores that know what is good.
